What's the difference between the Bitdefender we already deploy and Managed Threat Response?+
Bitdefender GravityZone is endpoint security software — it catches known threats, blocks malicious sites, and quarantines suspicious files automatically. That's the software layer, and it comes standard with every managed IT tier. Managed Threat Response adds a 24/7 team of human security analysts on top of that software. They watch alerts around the clock, correlate patterns automated tools miss, and take manual action within minutes if something looks off. Think of the software as the alarm on the building; MTR is the security company with people actually watching the alarm 24 hours a day.
What's the response time for an actual incident?+
For a confirmed high-severity alert (active exploitation, ransomware behaviour, credential theft), analysts investigate and take initial containment action within 15 minutes on average. Lower-severity alerts get triaged within the hour. You get notified only when a real incident requires your input — the goal is fewer emails, not more.
Do we need MTR if we already have cyber insurance?+
Increasingly, yes. Cyber-insurance carriers have started requiring managed detection and response (MDR/MTR) as a condition of coverage or reasonable premiums. If your carrier hasn't asked yet, they're likely to at your next renewal. Beyond insurance, MTR is what closes the gap between "the alarm went off at 2 AM" and "someone actually responded to it before your data was gone."
Do we have to be on managed IT to add MTR?+
Yes — MTR is offered as an add-on to our managed IT tiers, not standalone. The reason is practical: MTR relies on having Bitdefender GravityZone properly deployed, patched, and monitored, which is what our managed tiers already handle. Bolting MTR onto a break-fix arrangement leaves too many gaps for it to work reliably.
Is there a minimum device count or contract length?+
No minimum device count within your tier's included endpoints. No long-term contract — MTR bills monthly alongside your managed IT plan and can be added or removed at any month boundary. If you add it and decide it's not worth it in 90 days, no penalty for dropping.
What happens to alerts when I'm closed on the weekend?+
That's exactly when MTR earns its keep. Ransomware groups deliberately time attacks for Friday nights, weekends, and holidays when in-house staff are least likely to notice. The 24/7 analyst team responds regardless of your business hours — you find out Monday morning that something was contained Saturday at 3 AM, rather than finding out Monday that all your servers are encrypted.

Zero change on your end. MTR runs against the Bitdefender GravityZone agents already installed on every managed endpoint. We enable the MTR service in your Bitdefender console, the analyst team is added to your account, and monitoring starts.
